For the second consecutive year, FreedomVoice’s own Southwestern Regional Channel Manager, Bob Harrison has been awarded as a Top 15 Channel Manager by Channel Partners Magazine. The award was voted on by nearly 1000 of the publication’s readers, who nominated and then voted for their favorite telecom professional.
“It’s always nice to be recognized by your peers,” said Bob of his award. “It’s pretty cool to be in the top 15.”
We are very proud to have Bob as a member of the FreedomVoice family. We strive to only hire the best channel managers in the industry to support our local dealers – who in turn help us support our customers. Bob’s relentless work ethic and infectious passion for delivering excellent service acts as an inspiration to us all.
The award was presented to Bob in Chicago at the Fall 2011 Channel Partners Conference & Expo, the telecom industry’s only event exclusively for the channel.
The secret to Bob’s success isn’t really a secret to anyone who has met the man. “I treat it as my business; I’m not going to clock out at 5:01. If it’s important to the dealer, it’s important to me. I’m always available.”
When asked whether or not he was expecting to be back next year for the “threepeat,” his response was an emphatic, “Absolutely!” We look forward to it!

Heads up, chums:
We’re rolling out a new feature!
Our customizable CNAM (Caller NAMe) feature looks up your caller’s name using a massive, constantly-updated database of name & number pairings and displays it on your VoIP phone right alongside the caller ID phone number.
That is – if that’s where you want it. You’re free to specify which area on your phone’s display you’d like to use to show this information.

The title is a paraphrase of Mark Twain, in response to rumors of his demise. Now we know how he felt.
Over the past few days, FreedomVoice has been getting quite a few rather shocking phone calls and emails, inquiring about our financial condition. Turns out, another unrelated telecom company named Freedom Communications USA declared bankruptcy in Tennessee last week. Due to the likeness of our names, a lot of people thought we were the ones filing for Chapter 11. Negative.
Before I go on, let me make it clear: we’re not the “Freedom” telecom company going bankrupt. And we’ve been through this before. We appreciate your concern, but we want you to know we’re doing better than ever.

Deploying efficient technology starts with choosing solutions that work well together, that have a certain synergy to make your day-to-day that much simpler. That’s why FreedomVoice has been working hard to develop a plug-in that integrates your FreedomIQ Hosted VoIP PBX phone system with the wildly popular Salesforce CRM.
We’re happy to announce that this plug-in has arrived, and is now being offered in conjunction with the already-popular and time-saving FreedomIQ Dialer plug-in we’ve developed for Microsoft Outlook. Together, these plug-ins unify your contacts and help you get even more out of your hosted VoIP service.

So we have this page all about hosted VoIP on Squidoo. It’s pretty new, about a month old, so I wanted to quickly introduce it to you.
The Basics on Squidoo
Squidoo is a pretty cool site. Basically it lets you build a web page containing whatever information you want. Of course in our situation all we care about is hosted VoIP PBX and business VoIP service, so that is what our Squidoo page is about. But no matter what your interest you can make a Squidoo page. Just make sure you get on it quick because all of the good URL extensions are being snatched up. Kind of like what is going on in the All Top space.

Working with a cutting-edge technology like hosted VoIP, it’s not hard to find inspiration. We’re constantly pushing the envelope to build a better, faster, and stronger technology for our customers, and we love to hear feedback on how we’re doing. But today I thought I’d share different source of inspiration – one of the more peculiar, mildly-aggravating, but mostly hilarious signs that you’re doing something right:
When “competitors” – and I use that term loosely – steal your entire copyrighted website.

Whether we like it or not, the H1N1 virus is among us. While the virus affects our health, it can also affect our business. But smart CEO’s are using hosted VoIP PBX technology to end the virus’s daily commute.
According to a national survey released by Mansfield Communications, 91 percent of Americans said they want their co-workers to remain at home if they are infected with the H1N1 flu virus. And if an employee goes to work with the flu or symptoms of, 83 percent of co-workers say they are likely to inform a fellow colleague or senior management about a colleague in their workplace whom they think might be showing symptoms of the flu.
“By having clear and definitive H1N1 policies and procedures in place and by becoming a trusted source of related information, leading companies can truly take care of their greatest asset – their employees,” said Rob Ireland, partner at Mansfield Communications Inc.

It’s always amazing when your hosted VoIP PBX product lets a customer accomplish a goal. Recently, we were able to help a customer do just that.
The Newton Group ESA, a well known and reputable telemarketing business, has successfully integrated 90 remote employees using the FreedomIQ hosted VoIP service. This is no small feat… Each of these employees is located in different regions across the United States. But, by plugging their Polycom phones into their Internet connection and accessing the hosted VoIP service, they are now able to seamlessly operate on the same network.
