Throughout the recent months, I’ve tested a lot of video conferencing devices for hosted VoIP service and none top this newcomer: the Polycom CX5000 VoIP phone.
This new Polycom product brings video conferencing to another level with a 360 panoramic view, automatic speaker focus, USB plug and play features, and much more. This conference device takes meetings to a new level, which saves time, money, traveling expenses, and most of all, the cost for additional equipment. That’s right, no additional equipment required for your hosted VoIP PBX.
One of the biggest benefits of the CX5000 is how easy it is to deploy and use with business VoIP. The pioneers at Polycom have obtained exclusive rights to sell the device from Microsoft, which allows the seamless integration between Windows Live Meeting or Office Communicator 2007. It includes full plug and play functionality that connects to any PC. One benefit to using the Microsoft service is that it is provided as a hosted VoIP solution, where voice, video, and instant messaging are rolled into one seamless conference package.
The CX5000 VoIP phone has some pretty nifty features geared towards the business VoIP world. One of the most compelling is the 360 degree panoramic view. This is sent to the far end participants, providing a continuous view of the conference room attendees and excellent focus on the current speaker, allowing for the person to be easily identified.
Another useful feature of this VoIP phone is the ability to share content with other attendees, such as documents or other important meeting items. Having one place to organize all of your meeting content reduces headaches and allows you to focus on the most important thing during your meeting, that being, collaboration with your guests.
This advanced, easy-to-use conferencing VoIP system closes the gap between your business VoIP PBX and unified conferencing and increases productivity by creating a simple and easy way to connect people together.
The Polycom CX5000 VoIP phone has been out for just over a year now with a price tag of about $3500. To learn more, visit www.polycom.com/go/polycomcx5000. Learn more about hosted VoIP.
