September Dealer of the Month: Multi-Site Win Helps Disadvantaged

Joy Communications

Joy Communications, out of Stuart, FL has been a dealer with us since August of 2010 and is part of the TAG National Network. Owner Peter Engle and Director of Sales Pete Nicolaisen took some time with us to share how they succeeded.

Tell us about your opportunity.

United For Families (UFF) is a state-funded agency and a longtime customer of ours. They had a legacy Nortel PBX at corporate and a Centrex for their smaller offices. They have 6 locations in total with their corporate office, supporting 50 people and 5 other locations with 12 people in each.

No one could solve their needs of tying all offices together and doing it cost-effectively. We took them from the Centrex environment, dramatically increased their bandwidth, and did it at a price point that cost-justified the entire conversion. Before this deal, we did not support the other 5 offices. With the FreedomVoice solution we were able to do so. It’s a really good fit for the customer and ultimately allowed us to expand our footprint.

What set FreedomVoice apart from an on-premise solution?

The real key was being BYOB (bring your own broadband). We can then go out and find the best-of-breed bandwidth and value and then overlay FreedomVoice on top, as opposed to only dealing with a single broadband provider.

In addition, they had field agents who were part of their organization, but weren’t connected to their voicemail system. They used their own cell phones and worked remotely with a lot of limitations. With FreedomVoice, they like that they can bring their field agents into the organization more and monitor their performance.

How does this benefit the customer?

UFF serves low-income families over a pretty large area. They had a need to strengthen their organization by networking their offices together and updating their technology. In additional to the 110 phones via their offices, there are 135 caseworkers that are out in the field. Because of state regulations, they must document all appointments, so voice-to-text comes in handy to record their notes! We could not have accomplished this in a CPU solution.

Tell us more about your company …

How many employees do you have? 22 employees
How long have you been in business? 29 years, with offices in Pompano Beach, Stuart, and Tampa, Florida.
What other services do you sell? Premise Gear, Data Cabling, and System Surveillance

Is there anything else you would like to include?

I’d like to add that this is a team project. We received extra engineering support from Cory at FreedomVoice, performed the webinar with the client a couple times of times with a combination of your sales team; Jim Glanfield, Joe Schiavone and Bob Capasso, who was involved with the initial presentation.

You have already attended FVU, how did this benefit your company?

It really gave us a better understanding of who FreedomVoice is as a company and demystified some of the applications. We brought 4 people out and within 60 days of the university we sold the solution! It was very informative for us.
