Many people don’t understand the draw to the business VoIP industry from a professional standpoint. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve heard people say the following:
“Why do you want to work in VoIP?”
“What is VoIP?”
Etc, etc…
But when it all comes down to it, we work in the business VoIP hosted VoIP PBX sector for a reason, and we should be darn proud of it.
Did you know that hosted VoIP is one of the fastest growing sectors of the phone system industry? Some researcher’s project hosted VoIP to accumulate 25% of the phone system market in the U.S. by 2014. Not too shabby right? So why wouldn’t you want to work in an industry with explosive growth. But it’s much more than that, isn’t it?
If you work in VoIP you were drawn to it for a reason. Do you love innovative technology? Do you enjoy tackling complex issues and developing solutions? Do you like saving business owners money? If you are working in VoIP, you most likely feel these sentiments.
Obviously I’m touching on subjects that cover a breadth of positions in the industry, engineers, sales, etc. But what it all comes down to is, hosted VoIP is a good business. In this day and age there are so many different types of business models to work in… You know it, and I know it. But before you decide hosted VoIP is not for you, remember, hosted VoIP is for the smart, the cutting edge and the tech savvy. If you fall into that demographic, you may just be working right where you are supposed to. And if you are working hard in a niche suited to your talents, you’ll surely prosper.
